i'm late doing homework I shoulda knocked out earlier in the weekend, but that's life.

TUESDAY NOV. 18 = STEEL TRAIN

Yep, this comin' Tuesday November 18 I will be airing an exclusive LIVE set from Steel Train. They came through town last week, and I was able to have they come by my garage and record a stripped down set for the radio show. Robb brought his Tascam reel-to-reel 8-track recorder, and the end result is golden. The set includes a great sounding new song as well. Don't miss out on it. and spread the worrrrrrrrrrrrrd.

Next Show = Ben Nichols from LUCERO

the next show should be a unique one. This past Sunday, the Revival Tour stopped at the Casbah in San Diego. If you haven't heard of the tour, it's Chuck Ragan (of Hot Water Music), Tim Barry (of Avail), Tom Gabel (of Against Me), and good ol' Ben Nichols from Lucero. They start the show as a group, playing a few songs together, and then they each do solo sets, and then close it out all together at the end.  Anyhow, Robb and I brought our big band van down, and set up a few mics in it, and we were able to kidnap Ben after the show and have him spill his guts for about half an hour. He played a few songs, too. I personally think it's one of the coolest things ever to hear Ben make Almost Famous references somewhere past 3am, in a van, and then play a new, unreleased Lucero song. Sooooo, tune in to Songs of National Freedom this next tuesday, November 11th to hear this half an hour of gold, as well as some other good music about how good it is to be alive.

this tuesday I'm gonna be playin a handful of cover songs that I dig. If you have any good ideas, gimme a call and let me know what yer thinkin and I'll see if I can make it happen. to round out the hour, I'll also be playin some of my favorite songs that have been recorded over at Daytrotter. it's funny because every time I hear a new band that I dig, sure enough, I make my way over to the Daytrotter site, and they've already recorded a session there. pretty cool. 

It's lookin like I'm gonna have a few real fun in-studio guests in the next month or so. keep an eye on this page, or over at kuci.org for info on all that stuff.
