The Go Sheilas on Moms Rockin' the House on Thursday March 12th!

Get ready for a LIVE performance by the Go Sheilas this Thursday March 12, 2009 at 10am on my show at KUCI 88.9fm, Moms Rockin' the House and also streaming live at http://www.kuci.org/!

Sheila is not a punk rocker. But her band is. Sheila sang into her hair-brush to all things 80s pop. Her band went to Bad Religion shows. As a result, The Go-Sheilas are what it would sound like if Belinda Carlisle fronted Green-Day. This Orange County band really puts the “punk” in pop-punk, bringing music you can mosh to while singing along at the same time.
The Go-Sheilas are Sheila Go Sheila, Andy Fisher (formerly of Letdown), Dave Robinson (Salamander), Tobie Hutto, and Dan Carlton (Mad Marge and the Stone Cutters, The Rezurex). A guilty pleasure for England’s crusty punks, the Go-Sheilas have a sound you won’t want to miss. Since 2006, the Go-Sheilas have played live shows all over southern California at venues such as The Troubadour, House of Blues, and The Showcase Theatre. The band has been featured in the media: O.C. Weekly in September of 2006, The OC Register in January of 2007, and March of 2008. Their song “Simple Plan” from their 4 song EP was featured on national network television twice: once on ABC’s sitcom “Notes from the Underbelly” and once on Fox’s “The Loop”. Charlie Walk, (President of Epic Records) says “I like the vibe of this song [Holiday, from the EP] and would like to hear more from this band.” Now with their full length album coming out, you will get to hear more.

Cambria Detken LIVE on KUCI 88.9fm

Cambria Detken is a soulful, warm, and inspiring young (17 yearsold) singer songwriter and guitarist with self written songs about everydaylife. Cambria's debut release CD Simply Said is an impressive firstrelease. She was recently nominated for a 2009 LA Music Award for hersingle Open My Eyes. Cambria is all about saving the planet, one song at atime.
I first met Cambria at the OC Pavilion when she performed to a SOLD OUT crowd of over 500 people. The opening band was The Bolts and they were great, too. But when I heard Cambria sing, I was floored! Had a chance to meet her that night and invited her in to sing LIVE on my KUCI show and she was fantastic...and such a grounded, sweetheart of a girl.
One of her next big gigs will be at the Taste of Ladera Sunday May 3. I will be there promoting KUCI and emceeing. How cool I get to introduce Cambria! You can learn more about Cambria and her up-coming performances by visiting Cambria Detken.
