Congratulations are due the guests in the second half of the show, for their students were successful in winning the California regional in the Vans Competition: University High School fine arts teachers Hali Kessler and Dana Kramer. On the show they also covered the extensive range of art media done by their students along with others from around Orange County currently on exhibit at the Irvine Fine Arts Center entitled 1,000 Words, already open this week. Recently re-elected Irvine City Council Member Beth Krom considers the impact of the new composition of the Council on the further development of the Orange County Great Park and its programs. The Park&#039;s Board of Directors no longer seats members at large from beyond Irvine, and is comprised of only the 5 City Council members. The 10 year relationship with the Forde and Mollrich, and Townsend Public Affairs firms is ended.  All Park contracts over $50,000 will be auditited. <description>Stephanie Kight, Senior Vice-President of Community Affairs for   Planned Parenthood&#039;s Orange and San Bernadino offices, puts into perspective Plan B, amidst the reaction to Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) Kathleen Sibelius&#039; overruling of the FDA.  Kight also talks about the guidelines that HHS established ensuring healthcare to women without cost-sharing, under the Affordable Health Care Act of 2009.
Next, Emily Oakley, owner/operator of Three Springs Farm and board member of the National Young Farmers&#039; Coalition talks about her experience with farming, the contribution these affiliates offer in their communities, and the barriers that young farmers face in getting established in this business. She offers prescriptions for overcoming these barries.  Native of Oklahoma, Emily apprenticed in Northern California, then returned to Oklahoma with her partner to start their business 3 years ago. Founder and executive director of Agano With Kenya, Newport Beach resident Jene Meece talks about her execptional collaboration with Kenyan Father Henry Samaro to arrange for orphaned or deeply impoverished young women to get college educations. Her project, first launched in September 2010, is built around an agreement/pact known in Swahili as &quot;agano.&quot;  The guiding principle of the project is that the benefitting students maintain an agreement that as they are enriched, in turn further enrich, their peers, their villages of origin, and their society with the educations that they receive in any of the 30 universities around Kenya. 10 students were enrolled in the Spring of 2011, and will be joined by the next new cohort of 10 students within the year.
