OC Music Awards Recap!! AND KUCI Night w/Low vs. Diamond and Venus Infers

Well, the OC Music Awards officially went off last night and the crowd seemed very pleased. Congrats to the OCMA team, especially Luke Allen, Ashley Eckenweiler and Michelle Luna for launching a successful awards show. Now, if you want to know who won what, I will give away a few bands who took home awards but the rest you will just have to listen to Press Pass Music this Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. Venus Infers left with three awards and Japanese Motors left with two awards! If you want to hear the rest, listen to my show this Thursday. From noon to 1 p.m. I will have Avenue of the Giants on the program and from 1 to 2 p.m. I will provide you all with an OCMA recap.

AND, tonight for the after...after party head over to Detroit Bar for the KUCI Night w/ Low vs. Diamond and Venus Infers. What a great way to spend your Sunday Funday. Show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $10. If you go, please stop by our KUCI table and say hello!

Now, I better go rest up for tonight.

Will Crum and Hong Kong Six on PPM this Thursday, noon to 2 p.m.

Guess what? We have a double whammy this week on Press Pass Music. Will Crum is playing a live set and then after Hong Kong Six is performing an acoustic set. It should be a good old time.

We're definitely going to talk about Will Crum's performance at the Wendy's in Costa Mesa. See the video below.

ALSO, I have tickets to give away to JAPANESE MOTORS at Detroit Bar on Feb. 19. Who wants them? Call in when you hear me play Japanese Motors. First caller gets the tickets.

Show #2 -- 10-11-08 -- I'm still here...

Well hello there listeners,

I completed my second show this morning.... wooooo hoooooooo! There were a lot of random goodies from local acts this show. I'm very pleased with all the talented musicians I have been finding here in Orange County. If you know of any bands that are local please let me know and I will try to play them next week.

This week's show I celebrated the Japanese Motors' new self-titled album. It came out last week so I played songs from the album throughtout the show. Also, this show I played old and new tracks by Venus Infers and found out that Trisha (previous lead singer of Venus Infers) has gone solo. Her new name is HoneyPie and her new music is quite great.

Thanks for listening you guys! Please email me if you want to talk music or if you have any comments: ashleyeliot@yahoo.com.

For homework, go to a local venue and check out the sights and sounds of your awesome Orange County musicians. They're working hard to get their music out into the world so the least you can do is listen. ; )

My playlist is below. Feel free to listen again to past shows on
