I may be a little behind this week because I went on a spur of the moment cruise to Mexico... and still I feel like everything is rocking back and forth...but here is the NEW video by The Colourist. They released their new EP and video this past Friday at the Yost Theater in Santa Ana. I heard it was some shindig. I'm bummed I missed it. : (

Dirty Heads on Press Pass Music this Thursday!!

The reggae/hip-hop band Dirty Heads will be on the Press Pass Music show this Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. It shall be very interesting. The band starts on their tour this Friday, which includes playing Warped Tour. Tune in to KUCI 88.9 fm (www.kuci.org)

Orange-based band Your Yellow Dress is stopping by Press Pass Music this Thursday before they hit the road for a summer tour. Lets send them off the right way! Party in the studio?? Well Thursday night is the KUCI show at the Yost Theater, so a party sounds perfect.

Slings and Polaris At Noon on Press Pass Music this Thursday!

Slings(also playing the KUCI Night at the Yost Theater on May 28) were in the KUCI studio on Sunday so I will be airing their interview/acoustic set this Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. AND then from 1 to 2 p.m. I will have UCI's very own Jason Suwito of the band Polaris At Noon.

KUCI Night at the Yost recap!!

Well, the first-ever KUCI Night at the Yost Theater looked amazing. The bands sounded great...the theater's lighting was great...the free goodies from Volcom were great...the free Red Bulls were great...the yummy Ben & Jerry's ice cream was great...it was really a fun night. There will be pictures up shortly. Here is an example of the nice set up at the Yost. Each band had a video to play during their set. ALSO, if you missed last night, then you should be upset but don't worry there is aother one coming up on May 28!! The lineup will be revealed shortly.

Here is Moostache starting the night off right!! The band has residency at Detroit Bar for the month of May...that means catch them there every Monday! More videos will be up at www.youtube.com/presspassmusic.

First-ever KUCI Night at the Yost Theater begins TONIGHT!!

Let the party begin!! Tonight kicks off the first of hopefully many more KUCI Nights at the Yost Theater in Santa Ana. KUCI has been given the fourth Thursday of the month to put on a show. The first one is tonight, Thursday, April 23. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the first band goes on at 8:30 p.m. The awesome bands playing include The Shys, The Living Suns, Moostache, Death To Anders and Castledoor. We will have our very own KUCI DJ Jeremy spinning in between sets. Volcom Entertainment and Red Bull will have so free giveaways. Plus there will even be Ben & Jerry's ice cream and some cool stuff from KUCI. It sounds like a blast. Tickets are only $8 and a percentage of the proceeds go to KUCI -- a nonprofit independent station. We go to keep the music alive and going strong.

Who's on Press Pass Music this Thursday????

This Thursday catch newbies to Orange County Kyle and Natalie play an acoustic set and talk for a bit. The band will go on around 1 p.m. BUT before that I will have a couple special guest co-hosts choose the playlist for PPM this week. We'll find out from local musicians what their favorite OC tunes are. Should be interesting.

AS for an update on the KUCI Night at the Yost Theater in Santa Ana on Thursday, April 23. The bands are finalized: The Living Suns, Castledoor, The Shys, Death To Anders and Moostache. These bands are from OC and LA. Right now, KUCI is working on flyers and marketing materials, and also acquiring sponsors. As for shows this week...the OC Music Awards Live Showcases are coming to an end. Catch one of the last showcases at The Gypsy Lounge (21+) Tuesday night with awesome bands HoneyPie (first-ever performance as a whole band, well for the record they played on my show first), The Union Line, Barret Johnson and Avenue of Giants. Other shows to keep in mind are Delta Spirit at Detroit Bar on Thursday AND Les Claypool at the Hollywood Palladium, also on Thursday -- if you want to win tickets for this show email me asap: promotions@kuci.org.

That's it. I missed Ra Ra Riot tonight at Detroit Bar...I'm bummed and I'm listening to to them right now.
