The sound of ‘Routine Insanity’ is anything but your typical hip-hop record. Among the variety of styles one can look forward to in this album, Skinny Fresh, the man behind Hydroponic Sound System, and his partner Rube include elements of jazz, soul, and hip-hop in this funky mix of dusty beats. The Hydro team also brought in a number of third parties to feature in a large portion of these tracks including the likes of Skwod X, Massive, and Cold Cris. Both the instrumental and versed pieces are excellent. Look for the instrumental track titled “Spillin’ Out Me Pamplemousse”-spectacular.
