With catchy pop tunes all the way through the album, Death Cab for Cutie fans everywhere fearing disappointment from “The Photo Album” can heave a sigh of relief - they still got it. Not only is the musicianship on this indie pop/rock album well-delivered, but the singing by front man Ben Gibbard grabs the listener by the ears and gently coaxes us through the emotions he seems to be feeling. As if that were not enough, the lyrics themselves have a poignant touch...which is often times a rare find on a band’s third album. Very cool.
