You may e-mail me to let me know it's coming, but it's not required. If you ask me to, I'll email you to let you know I received it. And keep the jewel case, if you like. It'll make shipping costs lower for you, as well. I regularly get CD's from Belgium in a regular cardboard envelope with just the liner notes protecting them. I've rarely had a problem with any of them.
I am really sick of getting CD's that only have one or two songs on them. I have 2 problems with them:
1. It's a waste of money, and bad for the environment. 2. I try not to play the same song two weeks in a row, and I'm always trying to keep the show fresh and new. The more songs you send me, the more often your music will be played. Even if I only like one or two songs, your CD will have a better shot of being played.
If you're going to send me just one or two songs, do it by MP3, PLEASE! See below for how to do that.
I am now set up to take .MP3 submissions. If you have them available
somewhere on the web, just let me know where, and I'll go and listen to
them. I may not be as
timely as you'd like, but I do make every reasonable effort to listen to
everything. I am looking into hosting options, but for now, I don't
have any drop-off point for sending me files. If you want to e-mail
them to me, let me know, and I'll give you a different e-mail address
that can handle attachments up to 10MB. Preferred format is 96kbps
MP3PRO, but since I know most people don't use that, 192kbps (or
better) MP3's will work.
That said, bear in mind the format of the show. We play Gothic, Industrial, Darkwave, and Deathrock. We play SOME ethereal, but it had better be FAR more creepy than sleepy! If you play indie rock, techno, noise, or some other genre, you're just wasting your money sending us a CD. If you have one Goth song even though you're normally a ska band, we might still play that one song. That's what the MP3 option is for. If you're still confused, either listen to the show, or peruse the playlists. Then, ask yourself if your music belongs amongst what you hear...
If you have any questions, feel free to write me.
