about the host

Larry Momaya, MD is a Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist. He graduated from UCI College of Medicine in 2000, and completed his Psychiatry Residency from UCI Medical Center in 2004. He is currently working as a psychiatrist in Orange County, CA and specializes in Brain Imaging, and Depression and Anxiety Disorders. He is particularly interested in Dynamic Psychotherapy — an approach which focuses on the Unconscious processes of the Mind and its impulses, feelings and thoughts. In addition, he enjoys working with patients with Adult Attention Deficit Disorder.

On "A Look Inside", Momaya interviewed different specialists in the mental health field. Many of the guest psychiatrists were clinical professors of psychiatry at UCI Medical Center and at the Long Beach Veterans Affairs Hospital. After the show ended, he continued to do interviews with print media and was the regular fill-in for "Change Your Brain, Change Your Life" — the radio talk show for the Amen Clinics, in Newport Beach.

In addition to his clinical practice, Momaya enjoys many personal interests, including listening to, and playing, Indian Classical Music, as well as hosting another music radio show, which he is also now taking a break from. A book is planned for the future.
