: Installed jaz external (scsi) onto bak panel of
: my computer. The scsi card is a ultrastor 24f.
: When it boots up, it shows up second on the scsi
: chain. Before the jaz was installed,
: The one and only hard drive was formatted into
: two partitions (C: and D:). With the jaz installed,
: c: is ok but the jaz becomes d: and the (previously
: d:) becomes e:. Everything works ok, but... we have
: some programs hard coded to look for d:. Bummer eh?
: Is this an easy adjustment or are we condemned to a
: life of hell? How can I make the jaz e: and restore
: the old drive letter d: to d: once again?
Just go into Control Panel, and select System. Next, select "device manager",
and find your jaz drive (Prolly under "disk drives". My syquest drive shows up in
there..). It'll open up a panel, and you click on "settings". At the bottom, is where the drive
letter is assigned. Just change it from being d: to e:.
Also, change the one for your d: partition to be d: and the system will prolly tell you it'll
reboot. Once it's done, it should be set to how you wanted it.
Hope that helps! :D
