Book Reports about
the Comics in the Daily Grind Contest
and Other Places, Too

by Michael H. Payne

Back in June of 2005, I decided that I'd been sluffing off my responsibilities as a conscientious member of the Daily Grind for far too long: the number of comics that'd dropped from the contest at that point had reached into the double digits, and there were still some contestants whose work I'd barely glanced at!

So, surrendering to my inner academic, I assigned myself three Daily Grind comics per week: I would read their archives from the beginning and then write up my impressions in the form of rambling personal essays that, for want of a better term, I called "book reports." Yes, my inner academic is apparently a fourth grader...

This, then, is the main page for those reports.

First, you should read the Introductory Essay just to get an idea of why this whole thing was really kind of a stupid idea on my part, then you can move on to the essays themselves as outlined below:

Or you can just forget the whole thing and head on back to the Main Page. That'd be my recommendation...
