Pentimento are a four-piece Pop Punk Band from Buffalo, NY who are slowly gaining more popularity on the Pop Punk scene. On their new EP, Inside the Sea, the band shows a maturity in their sound while still sticking true to their punk rock roots. The songs on this EP mix elements of Jimmy Eat World and Hot Water Music together to create an upbeat blend of Emo and Punk that leaves the listener wanting more. Jason Schreurs of Alternative Press gave the album 4 out of 5 stars, stating that “Inside the Sea sounds brilliant!” Tracks to definitely check out on this EP include “Any Minute Now” and “Just Friends.” Pentimento is currently on tour with Real Friends and Mixtapes, and will be coming back to Southern California early next year to open for Reggie and the Full Effect on their upcoming U.S. headline tour.

Brain Kraus of Alternative Press said it best when he wrote “State Champs give you no chance but to wake up and smell the pop-punk!” Produced by Steve Klein of New Found Glory, The Finer Things is a great blend of catchy guitar hooks, pounding drums, and emotionally appealing lyrics that leave the listener sitting on the edge of their seat. Tracks to definitely check out on this album include “Elevated,” “Hard to Please,” “Remedy,” and “Critical.” You can currently catch State Champs on tour with Chunk, No Captain Chunk, Counterparts, and Living with Lions.

The Flatliners – Dead Language - [Fat Wreck Chords]
The Flatliners are a four-piece Canadian Punk Rock band. Their new album, Dead Language, marks the band’s 3rd release on Fat Wreck Chords since their formation in 2002. The songs on this record are heavily driven by an awesome blend of catchy guitar hooks, quick drumming, and powerful vocals. These elements can be compared to those used by some of the bands label mates including Lagwagon, NOFX, and Against Me! Byrne of punknews.org made a good comment about the album when he wrote, “Dead Language contains a fair share of gems sure to become live staples for years to come.” Tracks to definitely check out on this album include “Resuscitation of the Year,” “Bury Me,” “Hounds,” and “Quitters.” The Flatliners will be in Southern California on December 6th, playing a free show at the Slidebar in Fullerton.
