The Menzingers– Rented World – [Epitaph Records]
The Menzingers are a 4 piece Punk Rock/Emo band from Philadelphia, PA. Their new album Rented World features a really cool mix of Punk, Pop Punk, and Emo. Characterized by catchy hooks, upbeat drumming, and tight harmonies, the sounds heard on this record are very similar to those heard by artists such as Weezer, Jimmy Eat World, Taking Back Sunday, and Motion City Soundtrack. Cope is a very interesting album in the fact that the songs heard on it combine the heavy and fuzzed out elements of grunge with the soft and melodic elements of emo. Some of the influences you can pick out while listening to this record include Alice in Chains, Weezer, Jimmy Eat World, and Taking Back Sunday. Code 4-15 – We Made It! – EP – [Self Released]
Code 4-15 is a 4 piece Punk Rock band from Santa Barbara, CA. Their new EP We Made It! is a loud and fast paced record that features an abundance of catchy riffs, melodic choruses, and tight harmonies. Code 4-15’s sound is very similar to that of various punk rock bands from the ‘90s such as Pennywise, Bad Religion, Pulley, and Social Distortion. You can also hear influences of more melodic punk rock bands such as Rise Against and Strike Anywhere. Hit Society is a 4 piece Punk Rock band from Detroit, MI. Their new EP Piranha Pool is very upbeat and catchy record that features a lot of catchy hooks that will make listeners want to tap their feet. The band attributes their sound to a wide array of influences such as; The Buzzcocks, The Replacements, Hot Water Music, The Lawrence Arms, and Lagwagon. Their new self-titled record is an interesting mix of punk rock, rockabilly, and rock and roll which the band calls Junk Rock. The songs heard on this record and very upbeat and energetic and feature an abundance of fuzzed out guitars, angsty vocals, and foot tapping rhythms. The band attributes their unique sound to a wide array of influences such as; The Rolling Stones, Johnny Thunders, The 101ers, Chuck Berry, and The White Stripes. Tracks to definitely check out on this album include; “Too High for West 7th,” “Snake Foot,” “Me or California,” and “Back to the Rio Grade.” If you are looking for a fun and upbeat record to get you pumped up, this should do the trick!

The Drug Budget – Overpower Afterparty – [Sell Sum Records]
The Drug Budget is a 12 piece Ska Punk band from Minneapolis, MN. Their new album Overpower Afterparty is a unique mix of genres that aren’t usually mixed together. These include Punk, Rock, Ska, Funk, Jazz, and Blues. While the band’s main focus is on Ska, many of their songs will jump into unexpected interludes where the band will experiment with other genres. While these interludes don’t make a whole lot of sense sometimes, the band keeps their listeners interested through their virtuosity on their instruments. Tracks to definitely check out on this record include; “I Don’t Give a Shit About Anything,” “Kevin Will Aim,” “Socialist Stripper,” and “Capitalist Girlfriend.” If you are looking for something weird to play on your show, this is definitely the best pick out of this bunch of adds.

Banner Pilot– Souvenir – [Fat Wreck Chords]
Banner Pilot is a 4 piece Punk Rock band from Minneapolis, MN. Since signing to Fat Wreck Chords in 2009, the band has been able to continually develop their sound with each new release. Their new album Souvenir is no exception.
