Handguns – Life Lessons - [Pure Noise Records]
Handguns are a 5 piece Pop Punk band from Harrisburg, PA. After taking a couple of years off from the studio, Handguns have returned stronger than ever with their latest release Life Lessons, which is the band’s 2nd full length release in their very short yet productive career. Life Lessons is a very upbeat and catchy album that is chalk full of emotionally charged Pop Punk anthems that will be played for years to come. Besides showcasing their talents on this record, the band also showcases their maturation not only as songwriters, but as human beings as many of the songs on this album discuss topics such as growing up, heartbreak, and financial struggle. Tracks to definitely check out on this record include; “Anvil,” “Sleep Deprived,” “Heart vs Head,” “The Loved Ones Who Hate Us,” and “Queens.” If you like what you hear on this album, you can check out Handguns live at Chain Reaction in Anaheim on August 15th with Hundredth, Counterparts, Being As An Ocean, Forever Came Calling, My Iron Lung, and Capsize.

My Iron Lung – Relief – [Pure Noise Records]
My Iron Lung is a 4 piece Melodic Hardcore band from San Diego CA. After signing to Pure Noise Records earlier this year, My Iron Lung have finally released their first full length record, “Relief.” Relief is a pretty awesome album that is characterized by screaming vocals, melodic guitar lines, and emotional lyrics. The sounds heard on this record are very similar to those heard by other melodic hardcore/post-hardcore bands such as Touché Amoré, La Dispute, and Being As An Ocean. Tracks to definitely check out on this album include, “Commomwealth,” “Conflict of Interest,” “Hard Season,” and “Monument.” If you like what you hear on this record, you can check out My Iron Lung live at Chain Reaction in Anaheim on August 15th with Hundredth, Counterparts, Handguns, Being As An Ocean, Forever Came Calling, and Capsize.

Roman Candles – Riley Versus Jason In The Battle Of Gracious Living – [Plan-It-X Records]
Roman Candles is a 1 man Folk-Punk band based out of the OC. Their newest album Riley Versus Jason In The Battle Of Gracious Living is a wonderful collection of 1 minute long Folk-Punk ballads that feature the one and only Christopher Gordon on acoustic guitar and lead vocals. The best way to describe the music heard on this record would be to say that it is folk music with a punk attitude. Even though it may sound unusual to mix together folk and punk music, Roman Candles definitely makes it work. Tracks to definitely check out on this album include; “Monday Morning Patience,” “Yorba Linda,” “The Mormon Proposition,” “Gracious Living,” and “Letter In The Mail.” A big thanks goes out to DJ Durwood for bringing Roman Candles (Christopher Gordon) on his show and getting him to donate this album to us!

The Mostly Dead - Wilderness - [Self Released]
The Mostly Dead are a 4 piece hardcore punk band from Washington, D.C. Their new album Wilderness is a fast paced and hard hitting record that is characterized by loud guitars, pounding drums, and angst filled vocals. While influences of earlier hardcore punk acts such as Black Flag, The Circle Jerks, and Minor Threat can be heard on this record, the band’s sound mostly mirrors that of more current punk rock/hardcore bands such as Rise Against, Comeback Kid, and The Great Collapse. Tracks to definitely check out on this album include; “WEA,” “Sink / Drain,” “The Body,” and “Wilderness.”
