Hank Williams III - Take As Needed For Pain - [BRUC Records]
Hank Williams III, who is the grandson of Hank Williams Sr. (one of the most significant and influential singers/songwriters of the 20th Century) is a solo artist who plays a mix of Punk Rock, Metal, and Country music. His new album Take As Needed For Pain is a freaking awesome record that incorporates a wide variety of different musical stylings/genres into it that any fan of Punk, Metal, or Country can enjoy. Every track on this album has a different feel to it. One minute you will be banging your head to a song that sounds like Rage Against The Machine, Metallica, or Kid Rock (minus the rap), and then all of a sudden you will be listening to a song that makes you want to square dance just like an original Hank Williams song would. To top it all off, HWIII also does a Black Flag cover on this record. What else is there to ask for? Tracks to definitely check out on this album include: “Get Outta My Life,” “Ruby, Get Back To The Hills,” “No Values,” and “Gotta Buy Paw A Truck.”

Rivers Monroe - Rivers Monroe - [Phosphorylative Entertainment Group]
Rivers Monroe is a Pop Punk band from Philadelphia, PA. Their debut album Rivers Monroe is a really catchy and upbeat record whose sound can be characterized by snappy guitar/keyboard hooks, poppy vocal melodies, and emotional lyrics. With that being said, Rivers Monroe’s sound can be compared to that of a lot of the other more well-known Pop Punk bands on the scene right now including: New Found Glory, The Maine, Four Year Strong, and Veara. Nevertheless, this band is still very unique in their own right and I highly recommend giving their album a listen! Tracks to definitely check on this record include: “Moments,” “Summer Starts Tonight,” “Sleeping With The Enemy,” and “All Night Affair.”

The Blind Shake - Fly High! - [Slovenly Recordings]
The Blind Shake is a Punk Rock/Garage Rock band from Minneapolis, MN. Their new album Fly High! is a really awesome record that has a pretty unique sound to it. Characterized by twangy guitars, groovy bass lines (actually played by a baritone guitar), and a boatload of reverb, the sounds heard on this record can compared to those of many other well-known ‘70s and ‘80s Punk Rock/Post-Punk bands including: The Clash, The Damned, Joy Division, The Sound, and Agent Orange. On top of all of the sounds mentioned above, the band also experiments with a handful of different special effects to further enhance their sound, which I think is pretty cool. They also throw some Surf Rock into their songs every now and then, which is always a plus. Tracks to definitely check out on this album include: “Tar Paper,” “Apes Live A Life,” and “Fly Right.”
