Refused - Freedom - [Epitaph Records]
Refused is a Hardcore Punk band from Sweeden. Their new album Freedom, which marks the band’s first new studio release in over 17 years, as well as their first new release since reuniting in 2014, is a really awesome and hard-hitting record that shows that Refused still can and should be considered as one of the top Hardcore Punk acts on the scene today. Characterized by upbeat drumming, loud and distorted guitars, and screaming vocals, the sounds heard on this album can be compared to those heard by many other well-known artists including: The Foo Fighters, Muse, Gallows, and Snapcase. If you are looking for something that’s fast, loud, hard edged, and that has a bit of a political undertone, this is most definitely the record for you! Tracks to definitely check out on this album include: “Elektra,” “Dawkins Christ,” “Thought Is Blood,” “366,” and “Servants Of Death.”
